Ab heute kann man sich in der BlackBerry Social Community „MyBlackBerry“ ohne Invitation Code anmelden. Ok, bisher auch nur für User aus den Staaten. Leider ist der Start alles andere als ein Erfolg, denn schon bei der Aktivierung des Accounts gibt es massig Probleme. Beim Anmeldeformular sind die Felder teilweise noch mit Datenbanknamen versehen. Der Aktivierungslink in der Mail ist ebenso ein falscher. Auch nach dem Login ist entweder nur ein „You are logged in“ Screen zu sehen, oder die Grafiken sind alle verschoben (hatte vor 2 Stunden jedoch noch funktioniert).

Kleiner Tipp von Sacha für die Aktivierung:

• Auf my.blackberry.com einen neuen Account einrichten
• Als Land USA angeben, und einen US-Carrier auswählen
• Anmeldung abschließen
• Aktivierungsmail öffnen
• Die URL des Aktivierungslinks in die Zwischenablage kopieren

Dann muß man den Link umbauen, damit die Aktivierung funktioniert, bei mir sah der Link in der Mail ungefähr so aus:

http://00000011.html/config.path/activate.seam?email=abcd%40abcdefghij.ab&code=dcd008154711da778abcdef7a1365

Das “00000011.html/config.path/” ersetzt man dann gegen https://www.blackberry.com/webSSO/. Danach wurde mein Konto erfolgreich aktiviert und ich konnte mich in der MyBlackBerry Community anmelden.

Solltet Ihr Screenshots sehen wollen, schaut bei blogberry vorbei, Sascha hatte noch das Glück sich anzumelden als noch alles richtig dargestellt worden ist :)

In den letzten Tagen hat man oft lesen dürfen, dass RIM den Usern verspricht, den BlackBerry Browser bis zum nächsten Sommer so weit zu entwickeln, dass er mit dem iPhone mithalten kann, wenn nicht sogar besser wird. Boygenius berichtet nun heute über bestätigte Informationen, dass RIM auf dem Wege ist, einen vollen Flash, sowie Silverlight Support zu implementieren.

Es ist klar, dass dies nicht so schnell realisiert wird, da der BlackBerry (bisher) nicht die nötige Performance aufweist, aber bis dahin ist ja noch Zeit genug für gewisse Weiterentwicklungen. Evtl. dann OS 6.0?

Viele BlackBerry Anwender hatten den Wunsch geäußert, dass Sie den BlackBerry Appstore auch gerne über den Browser am PC benutzen würden. Da RIM bekanntlich auf seine Kunden hört, wurde auch dieser Wunsch heute erfüllt. Den BlackBerry App World Webstore gibt es jedoch nur in englischer Sprache und ich wage es zu bezweifeln, dass sich daran was ändern wird.

Ich wünsche Euch viel Spaß beim durchstöbern (Geht auf jeden Fall schneller als mit dem BlackBerry Browser) und würde mich über Eure Meinung freuen, hinterlasst einfach einen Kommentar.

SDR 315058
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, in certain circumstances, the BlackBerry Administration Service did not store generated passwords properly during installation and the BlackBerry Administration Service needed to be reinstalled.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.

SDR 339783
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, when the home carrier name for a user was greater than 128 characters in length, the PIN of the user’s BlackBerry device was blank in the BlackBerry Administration Service, and administrators were unable to send a delete all device data and disable device command to the BlackBerry device.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.

SDR 355835
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, an update to the vendor.xml file contained data that could not be validated by the BlackBerry Administration Service. This data might have caused the BlackBerry Administration Service to write error messages to its log files and prevented the BlackBerry Administration Service from delivering applications to BlackBerry devices.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.

SDR 355837
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, if a user’s BlackBerry device did not acknowledge receipt of an IT policy within four hours after an administrator assigned the IT policy to the user, the BlackBerry device was unable to accept any subsequent IT policies until the administrator cancelled the initial IT policy assignment.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.

BlackBerry Attachment Service
SDR 350745
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, in certain circumstances, when the BlackBerry Internet Service sent an ArchiveList to the BlackBerry Attachment Service, the BlackBerry Attachment Service stopped responding.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.

In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, in certain circumstances, when viewing a Microsoft Excel attachment on a BlackBerry device, numbers representing units of time might have displayed incorrectly.

BlackBerry Collaboration Service

In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1 SP6 or later, the BlackBerry® Client for IBM® Lotus® Sametime® could not log in to the IBM Lotus Sametime server if the server only allowed certain types of clients to log in.

BlackBerry Messaging Agent

In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, in certain circumstances, the BlackBerry Messaging Agent stopped responding until the BlackBerry Controller was manually restarted.

BlackBerry Monitoring Service

In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, if you added more than 10 notification addresses, only the first 10 notification addresses displayed in the BlackBerry Monitoring Service.

BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager

In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, when the BlackBerry® Web Desktop Manager did not have permission to access an application and users tried to update the application on their BlackBerry devices, the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager removed all applications on the BlackBerry devices.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.

SDR 335848
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, in certain circumstances, when users tried to install an application on their BlackBerry devices using the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager, the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager removed the device software from the BlackBerry device.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.
Security

SDR 298237
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, during certificate enrollment over the wireless network, if the certificate authority returned more than one certificate in the certificate chain, the BlackBerry device might not have received the certificates. The BlackBerry Synchronization Service wrote the following error message to the BlackBerry Synchronization Service log file: “Error Logging: DevMgmt.Configuration Channel::A-260-ERROR_VERIFICATION_FAILURE.”
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 MR2, this issue is resolved.

If you configured the BlackBerry Enterprise Server so that BlackBerry devices can connect over the Wi-Fi® network only, you cannot activate BlackBerry devices.

Diverse Quellen lassen darüber spekulieren, dass das MR2 noch diesen Monat zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Warten wir also ab und lassen uns wie immer von RIM überraschen.

Bei Blackberrysync.com bin ich heute auf eine kuriose Mitteilung gestoßen. Und zwar geht es darum, dass RIM angeblich (nur Gerüchte) eine BlackBerry Uhr auf den Markt bringen möchte.

The BlackBerry Bluetooth Watch would support BlackBerry phone, and will give alerts when emails, BlackBerry Messenger messages, texts, Tweets and Facebook wallposts are received. It’ll also allow for wireless connection to transfer music and videos BlackBerry for stereo.

Ob man es wirklich braucht ist eine andere Frage, aber Fakt ist, dass RIM mittlerweile sich nicht mehr nur noch um das BlackBerry Smartphone kümmert, sondern auch über den Tellerrand hinaus schaut.
Wir dürfen also gespannt sein ob an diesem Gerücht was dran ist. Und wie immer, werde ich natürlich darüber berichten.

Nachdem BlackBerry vor einiger Zeit sein eigenes BLOG gelaunched hatte, sind nun die Entwickler dran. „Developer’s blog“ richtet sich an die Entwickler Community da draussen und berichtet über Best Practises, sowie News rund um die Entwicklung bei BlackBerry.

Wie heise.de heute berichtet, wird dieser Dienst jedoch eingestellt:

Der kanadische Blackberry-Hersteller Research in Motion (RIM) setzt in Zukunft auf zwei Software-Entwicklungsansätze: Java- und Web-Anwendungen. Dabei lassen sich aus Elementen der Webentwicklung sogenannte Widgets erzeugen, die HTML, CSS und Javascript enthalten und als Anwendung zu installieren sind.

Dafür stellt RIM die Entwicklungsumgebung Blackberry MDS ein. MDS Runtime und MDS Studio sind ab Ende des Jahres nicht mehr verfügbar; der Support endet Mitte 2010. Neue Geräte mit OS 4.7.1 und höher werden MDS Runtime nicht mehr unterstützen.
Um die Entwicklung von Web-Anwendungen zu unterstützen, bietet RIM eine neue Version 1.2 des Visual-Studio-Plug-ins an. Sie benötigt Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition auf Windows XP and Vista in der 32-bit-Version. Zusätzlich veröffentlicht RIM ein neues Plug-in für Eclipse 3.4, das auf den gleichen Windows-Version aufsetzt.
