In Unternehmen, in denen man einen Proxy-Server verwendet und die Konfiguration per PAC-Datei abruft, sind folgende Schritte notwendig, um den BlackBerry Usern den Zugang zum Internet über den Browser zu ermöglichen:
- Im BlackBerry Manager, in der linken Spalte, BlackBerry MDS Connection Service auswählen
- Im Tab Connection Service Edit Properties auswählen
- Proxy anklicken
- Doppelklick auf Proxy Mappings
- Neu auswählen
- Im Feld Universal Resource Locator die URL expression eintippen, für die das Proxy Mapping in Kraft treten soll
- Im Feld Description eine Beschreibung für das Proxy Mapping eingeben
- Doppelklick Proxy String
- New klicken
- Anhand der Proxy Type Dropdownliste, folgendes durchführen:
- Detect a PAC file automatically
- AUTO klicken
- Doppelklick auf Proxy Stringfield und den default value löschen
ODER - Pfad der PAC Datei angeben
- PAC klicken
- Doppelklick auf auf das Proxy String Feld und den Proxy Servernamen, Port und Pfad der PAC-Datei angeben. Zum Beispiel: http://<ProxyServer>:<Port>/<PACFilePath>/<PACFileName
- OK klicken
- BlackBerry MDS Connection Service neustarten
